We've decided to place you in Class D, congrats! ;D Right now, one of the main things I suggest you work on is your color sense. Several beginner artists shade by making the base color darker or lighter without shifting hue or saturation, and while that's easier to do, it makes your artwork less appealing. Here's something that shows what I'm talking about:
On the left is what it looks like you're doing. In the example, the base color, shadows, and highlights are all different shades of green (which can appear less interesting) On the right, the shadows go to more of a blue shade, while the highlights are more yellow. Typically for shadows you'll want to go for a cooler shade, and for highlights, a warmer shade. Here's a good video to explain what I'm talking about a bit more:
I'll skip the anatomy for now, cy'll help ya with that. ^^ You can always refer to the scoring rubric here.
Lastly, consider joining the discord for quicker feedback on your artwork. Many artists are on every day and can help you when you need it.
Please set your username to your site one, so an arbiter can assign your website rank to you. Otherwise, inactives/random people will be kicked. If you have a preferred name, put that in front, then in brackets put your site name afterward.
This chat is more convenient in the matter that you can directly paste screenshots (if you have Windows, use the Snipping Tool program) into chat and it loads :P It's also quicker to get feedback from other artists on the site. Discord's available as a web browser, separate program, and a phone app. So use whichever one's more convenient to ya~
Ay, we recently announced Artist Of The Month on the news page, which can be found by clicking the "News" button at the top of website. Please don't hesitate to PM me if you have any feedback/suggestions on the idea, as we'd love to hear them .
Art pouring out of yer brain? Too many threads to handle? We suggest you make ONE thread and post all of your art as new posts to keep track of them all and make them easy to find ^^ Then you could also look back on old feedback
